This is a problem that affects random apps caused by something in the iPhone OS itself. Apple fixed it for the most part in version 2.1 of the OS for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but it can still happen sometimes. Rebooting the iPhone can fix the problem. You do this by holding down the power button for a few seconds until it asks if you want to power down. Once it's off, you hold it again for a few seconds to power it back on. If rebooting doesn't work, you can usually delete the app and install it again to fix the problem.
